Specialized Academic Classrooms

Designed to keep students with disabilities within Albemarle County Public Schools, the Specialized Academic Classrooms (SAC) features K-12 academic programming with low student-to-teacher ratios. For the 2026-27 academic year, the ISC has grown to incorporate comprehensive behavioral interventions for K-12 students facing emotional challenges. We maintain the same rigorous academic standards as all schools, while dedicating additional support staff to every classroom to focus on social and emotional learning. Our comprehensive support team includes a school psychologist, counselor, autism specialist, and behavior specialist.
